Stanley on the north coast of Tasmania is a beautiful and alluring
township and a great place to spend a couple of day. We discovered
Stanley at the start of our tour of Tasmania's west coast. The town is
very tidy and one of it's major attractions, "The Nut" hovers overhead
and provides an excellent vantage point to take photos of the town.
Stanley features fresh
seafood being one of the main fishing ports on
the north west coast. Its the only place I have been to that offers
Crayfish and chips being the same price as fish and chips. I know which
one I'd prefer!
The town has some delightful cafes that serves
great scones or
ice-cream on a hot day.
A "must do" when you visit Stanley is to take the walk
around The Nut. Windy on one side, The Nut's micro climate at the top is
filled with butterflies and animals.
